SAP’s Maintenance Go-To-Market (M-GTM) organization enables our customers to run better by maximizing the value and innovation from our support portfolio, while protecting and enhancing SAP’s maintenance business. Within M-GTM, the Maintenance Renewals Operations Senior Specialist is part of the M-GTM Operations team. This dynamic world-wide team has the responsibility to drive business performance, processes, priorities and relationships - to ensure that strategic initiatives are realized. As a senior sales operations specialist, your primary focus will be on managing the business performance and operational aspects of a key global business partner relationship.
The M-GTM Operations team is globally responsible for the operational health of the business including business analysis and KPI reporting, sales process development & improvement, forecasting, target setting, compensation, training, system enhancement projects, and providing subject matter expertise for strategic initiatives. In this context, M-GTM also maintains relationships with external business partners that support M-GTM’s maintenance sales teams to ensure they meet and exceed their quarterly and annual revenue as well as operating goals.
Working with a broad group of cross-functional colleagues including senior management and executives, the key goal of this role is to protect and further enhance the operational excellence and performance of one of our key global external business partners.
Beyond operational excellence this role is instrumental in further enhancing renewal practices as well as the relationship with this key partner on a global basis, including business simulations and business case development as an integral part of contract negotiations
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS:
Perform financial modeling and analysis, and adhere to key metrics for tracking success rates of the active renewals business.
Identify and develop risk mitigation strategies to protect the maintenance revenue that is handled through internal renewals and external vendor agreements.
Perform compliance audits to ensure the active renewal business is being managed within SAP standards.
Assist in preparing executive level presentations to help MGTM management understand key underlying trends and developments in the active renewal space.
Build a strong relationship with internal and external business partners, and develop and execute on an operational plan aiming for operational excellence.
Drive analytics to provide insight into business performance and continuous improvement opportunities.
Participate in enhancing operational efficiency through innovative thinking, process improvement and system enhancements.
Proactively recognize business needs, and provide core business support functions to ensure the successful running of the maintenance sales business.
Partner with a diverse team of people located around the world, to provide first class operational support to a large maintenance sales organization.
Partner with peers, senior leaders and internal and external stakeholders to drive the business goals.
Ability to understand, create and deliver top-quality, audience-appropriate communication.
5 years of business experience, with preferably 2 years in a sales management, sales operations, or finance operations role.
Experience with large ERP and/or CRM systems as well as a strong ability to be process minded.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Strong leadership and problem solving capabilities with ability to drive decisions.
A good understanding of sales support/operations functions; understanding SAP’s accounting, controlling processes and/or revenue recognition being a plus.
Ability to interpret contracts, complex business documents/reports, and facilitate contract negotiations.
Proven ability to interpret analytics, and interact effectively across all levels of a large multi-national organization including executive management.
Excellent analytical, reporting and financial modeling skills.
Ability to effectively trouble-shoot and problem solve to resolve customer and business issues.
A working style driven by strong organization, prioritization and problem-solving skills.
Ability to network and build strong relationships with peers, senior leaders and external stakeholders.
Must be comfortable working with a world-wide team who are geographically dispersed, be willing to travel if required (<20%) and work extended hours to accommodate different geographies and urgent business needs.
Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
Detail oriented; and must be highly organized.
Adapt well to change, is results driven, and has the ability to be self-motivated and set and achieve goals with minimal supervision; in a fast paced environment.
