The duties of the Physician (Emergency Medicine) include:
Providing clinical interface with academic affiliates and other key stakeholders:
Working well within a group of clinical providers.
Sharing knowledge and expertise with professional and supportive personnel through in-services and educational activities.
Maintaining productivity at established levels to meet performance measures.
Maintaining patient confidentiality per HIPPA guidelines with written and verbal information.
Providing patient care appropriate to the cognitive, emotional, and chronological maturation needs of the patient.
Building relationships with management, co-workers, patients and the general public in a consistently courteous, respectful, and cooperative nature.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The work is largely office based and in a sedentary setting. No manual labor is required above ordinary situations. Incumbent must be capable of using a computer given that all clinical charting is electronic.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal safety precautions while working in an office/clinic or inpatient unit type environment, which is well lighted, clean and does not present hazards to personal safety. There may be occasional risk of physical harm, which requires special precautions and training. The incumbent may be exposed to infectious diseases and medical/psychiatric emergencies.
WORK SCHEDULE: 7:00am to 7:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00am with rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Completion of a first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was completed.
Proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).
PREFERRED EDUCATION.XPERIENCE: The ideal applicant will be Board certified/Board eligible in Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine, and possess Residency in Emergency Medicine.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs(e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
