Job Description: QA - Software Test Engineer

Fieldglass, an SAP company, provides a cloud-based Vendor Management System (VMS) to manage contingent workforce and services procurement programs. (QA, Software Test Engineer):
We are currently seeking a Software Test Engineer with a strong manual testing background who has understanding of SQL and basic scripting knowledge to work closely with our Development and QA teams in Chicago or Naperville office. This person will sit in our Integration team and is responsible for testing the Fieldglass application in order to maintain product quality. The successful candidate will work closely with developers and other analysts and apply analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure that the code is working per specifications.
Write and maintain tests utilizing basic scripting techniques
Fluent in Excel pivot table, charting, and basic macro writing
Demonstrates understanding of the different browser idiosyncrasies and how they can affect application behavior.
Writes functional requirement documents to support new/changed functionality and works with stakeholders to obtain signoff.
Develops test plans and test strategies.
Manages defects and works with development team to provide resolutions.
Collaborates with offshore testing teams in India.
Complies with various process controls throughout the SDLC.
Supports business and call center teams in understanding system functionality.
Supports the production release process, which includes the ability to work late nights and extended hours approximately once a month.
Plays an integral role in the entire software development lifecycle including participation in design sessions, defining functional requirements, working with development teams, testing, and preparing code for production deployment
We’re Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in computer or information science, mathematics, engineering, management information systems, or related course of study
3-4 years of experience in software application support/testing
Familiarity with SQL Server Management Studio and ability to write easy to moderately complex queries
Working if not extensive knowledge of Selenium, SOAP UI, and XML
Basic scripting knowledge such as VBS or similar
Experience with building an automation framework from scratch
Ability to thrive in a fast paced start-up environment
Self-motivated problem solver comfortable with ambiguity
Superior communication skills, high level of detail orientation and a “roll up your sleeves” attitude
Demonstrated ability to meet professional standards for attendance and punctuality
Must demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision, quickly adapt to changes, willing to work on tasks until completion and maintain a high level of work performance and service excellence to meet client’s needs
