          Assistant Market Surveillance Analyst - NY

          Description

          Assistant Analysts in Market Surveillance are responsible for aiding analysts who monitor commodity futures and their related cash and derivative markets in order to detect market conditions or positions for indicia of manipulative activity that potentially could disrupt or otherwise adversely affect the integrity, performance or orderly expiration of Exchange contracts. Assistant Analysts help review customer positions and process key regulatory information into systems. Assistant Analysts help track, maintain, and document progress of Market Regulation programs. Assistant Analysts are relied on for reporting, data collection, project coordination, and record creation and retention.
          Assistant Analysts work independently and as part of teams in conducting their responsibilities and also work on a variety of projects related to the department’s self-regulatory responsibilities.
          The department’s work is consistently challenging, interesting and diverse and the position provides broad exposure to the industry as well as significant growth opportunities.

          Qualifications: A solid understanding of Microsoft Office programs and the ability to utilize excel to track items graphically is a requirement. Understanding of futures markets and their derivatives as well as familiarity with concepts of hedging and finance is desirable. Good oral and written communication skills required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
