Originate new commercial real estate lending opportunities through actively working with Bankers and clients/prospects.

Negotiate terms and underwrite appropriate structures balancing client needs together with risk composition and capital returns. Prepare, present and recommend EDAC and greenlight memos for senior level business/risk approval.

Confirm that adequate due diligence related to the character assessment of CPB CRE clients is appropriately performed, maintained and documented.

Actively work with IF specialists on completing the underwriting/approval of the transactions. Primary responsibility

includes preparing/negotiating discussion outlines and terms sheets, running return analysis, structuring and completing negotiation of loan documentation through closing. Ensure all documentation is consistent with approvals and policies.

Maintain an active calling effort with clients/prospects to ensure current understanding of the client’s activity and provide early warning of any issues or situations that could impact the relationship.

Provide on-going product and market updates to bankers, GMMs and other IF specialists. Must maintain active knowledge of the CRE markets and products

Assist in the ongoing management of the existing portfolio with the IF specialists and ensure that key risks are identified. Proactively consult with risk management on early problem recognition.


Minimum of ten years in credit analysis and negotiation/underwriting of structured transactions/collateral lending. A majority of this should be on commercial real estate. An SCO is preferred.

Should have a background in knowledge of commercial real estate markets and risk including securitization and capital markets.

Active experience and comfort with client negotiations and ability to balance bank requirements with client requests.

Must have exceptional analytical, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Should have working knowledge of all necessary real estate software programs.
