Group Mission and Vision
SAP's Corporate Strategy Group (CSG) is responsible for shaping SAP strategy and identifying the growth engines that will drive significant value creation for SAP, including technology and product portfolio, Go-To-Market execution, and M&A strategy. The team focuses on answering questions that impact SAP’s mid/long-term strategic direction as well as short term priority objectives for the CEO and the SAP Board in a fact-based, objective manner that is laser focused on organizational impact.
Recently the group also expanded its scope to drive internal and external incubation efforts under the umbrella of SAP.io. Specifically the team is focusing on driving external startup engagement including early stage investments in startups and driving startup acceleration within SAP accelertors/incubators.
The Corporate Strategy Associate will drive market assessment, analysis, project management and recommendations for CSG strategic or tactical initiatives. These initiatives could consist of technology strategy, new product monetization, M&A strategy, go to market or coverage strategy, or strategic sales planning. Examples of the projects candidates can expect to work on include developing and communicating a point of view on a specific market opportunity, or building an advanced analysis on revenue and sales force performance.
Key responsibilities include:
Support CSG team leads and senior executives on strategic topics
Conduct detailed analyses that lead to compelling recommendations
Drive strategic projects by providing structured decision making backed by strong hypotheses
Synthesize information and analyses into creative business insights and recommendations ? Incorporate multiple, differing perspectives into high quality deliverables
Assist the MD of SAP.io in driving startup engagement initiatives
Work closely with the Chief Strategy Officer on select topics
Present the recommendations to Senior Executives supporting CSG Lead on a project
Experience & Skill Requirements:
The candidate should demonstrate the following abilities:
Proven, distinctive problem solving and analytical skills ? Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Superior Excel modeling skills and proficient PowerPoint skills
Outstanding senior executive communication and presentation skills
Capacity for multi-threading
The candidate will have at least 2 years of professional experience in a top-tier management consulting firm or a similar environment (e.g. M&A department within a Financial Services firm) and a BA/BS degree from top undergraduate institution.
Experience in the software industry or other IT-related areas, although not required, will be strongly preferred. Ad minima, the candidate will demonstrate a general, high-level understanding of the key trends in markets SAP operates in, e.g. cloud computing, big data, digitization... Experience working within an international project team is also a plus.
