BNY Mellon Global Head of Corporate Communications in New York, New York


Reporting to the Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources and Marketing & Communications Officer, and working closely with other members of senior management, the Global Head of Corporate Communications has responsibility for the development, integration and implementation of public relations and internal communications programs to advance and protect the Company's reputation with its key internal and external stakeholders.

_ Essential Functions:_

  • Develop and execute strategic global communications programs for key external and internal stakeholders to support the business goals and regulatory requirements of BNY Mellon, ensuring consistent messaging throughout all channels.

  • Establish a best-in-class worldwide communications team that delivers strategic, high-value communication programs. Determine the group’s capability and competency requirements and develop/hire staff to perform at leadership level in the industry.

  • Oversee employee communications and engagement in partnership with Human Resources including the development and implementation of materials and resources to engage employees in the Company’s growth strategies and to create strong and vital connections between leadership and employees. Leverage innovative communication vehicles and equip employees to become champions for the Company, to live its values and advance its brand.

  • Drive public relations strategies and tactics that advance the corporate image, protect and defend the corporate reputation and achieve valuable press visibility. Advance the company's reputation as a thought leader in the global markets. Improve media relations by building relationships and leveraging existing contacts.

  • Create crisis plans and rapid response messaging to deal with both large and small scale issues as they arise on a global platform.

  • Manage communication program for financial press, partnering closely with Investor Relations to ensure ongoing external recognition and support for the Company's strengths, its outlook and its strategy.

_ Business Expertise:_ Manage complex global issues, ensuring consistency in communication approach worldwide. Develop strong, effective working relationships across Communications, Human Resources, Marketing & Corporate Affairs and Investor Relations to drive internal and external messaging in support of the global brand.

_ Problem Solving_: Strong tactical execution skills, ability to drive projects and react swiftly to changing conditions; strong leadership and change management skills; excellent time management skills.

_ Nature and Area of Impact_: Position impacts company corporate wide and touches upon all businesses.

_ Interactions / Interpersonal Skills_: Must be effective strategic counselor to CEO, and Executive team. Proven partner with internal clients in advancing their goals and objectives through proactive communication. Ability to represent the company with key internal and external audiences.


Bachelor’s Degree; MBA preferred. 10 years of experience in significant Public Relations leadership roles. 15 years in significant Public Relations leadership roles preferred.
