Product Control as part of the Finance Division acts as a strategic partner across business lines. Product Control is responsible for calculating, analyzing and explaining the financial performance of each trading desk within Citi. To this end a Product Controller must understand the trading strategies, products, valuation, hedging, funding, risk management and regulatory implications. The US Equity Trading desks trade in various equity products from vanilla products such as listed options and futures to more advanced products such as exotic options and structured notes.
This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your analytical skills while increasing your knowledge across a variety of complex financial products.
Supervise Profit and Loss Analysis for Equity Derivative trading desks,
Products include; Equity options, barriers, variance swaps, equity linked notes, Margin Loans, Cliquets, basket options, Convertible Bonds, Stocks.
Enhance current controls, implement system enhancements and work with other areas in Finance to ensure best in class systems and processes.
Work with the front office to implement and identify process improvements and technology concerns.
Utilize the front offices Profit Attribution Analysis (PAA) to help explain the daily PnL movements for the day write commentary and ensure daily trading movements are correct.
Strengthen processes around PAA threshold breaks, residual trending and identify areas for improvement.
Analyze new deals and advise on valuation and booking methodology.
Ad hoc projects including system development, CCAR reconciliation improvements, and support of Front office requests.
Analyze the balance sheet and income statement; ensure the books are closed correctly and accurately.
Regular interaction with managers throughout the organization, including but not limited to Directors and/or Managing Directors of Finance, trading desks, Middle office, risk management, business unit management teams and operations is required.
Participate in discussions with internal and external auditors/regulators
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required;
Strong knowledge of Financial Products with Equity Derivatives knowledge a plus
Minimum of 5+ years related experience required, experience supporting Equity trading desk preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written required;
Strong Excel skills are a must; other financial systems are a plus.
