As an “insight-driven” business, SAP also harnesses its big data analytics capabilities to help drive internal decision-making. The Big Data Analytics team which is part of the Enterprise Analytics organization creates analytics which support business decision-making across SAP’s business groups (Sales, Marketing, Service, Finance, HR, etc.). The typical Analytics project covers hereby several activities – including (1.) working with business stakeholders regarding problem definition / business objective, (2.) specifying / articulating the analytic framework, (3.) developing and deploying the analytics and (4.) consulting with end users regarding proper application of analytics to the business.


During the internship within the Big Data Analytics team provides the student achieves first hands experiences into end-to-end analytics projects executed with cutting edge SAP technology (SAP HANA, SAP Predictive Analysis, …). As Enterprise Analytics supports all business areas of SAP the intern gets insights into many different business challenges. The student hereby supports during all phases of a project from the alignment with stakeholders, over data extraction and data manipulation and data analysis and ending with the solution implementation.

The detailed tasks of the intern will include:

Extraction and preparation of an analytical dataset out of SAPs Data-Warehouse

Execution of data analysis by applying multi-variate statistics

Documentation of the results

Last but not least the internship provides the opportunity to experience working in a global, multi-cultural organization for a market leader for business applications and get an understanding of global/regional/country organizational dynamics


Student (f/m) - preferred field(s) of study: Study with a strong quantitative discipline such as statistics, economics, or operations research

Computer skills:

Micosoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Experience using statistical programming/data mining software (R, SPSS, SAS, Stata, Rapid Miner,…)

Experience with data management techniques and database query tools a plus

Language skills: Fluency in English language, German a plus

Soft skills:

Strong analytical skills

Ability to effectively communicate data-driven insights to both technical and non-technical audiences

Hands-on-personality with high orientation on details
