The VP for global customer learning solution design will report to the Head of Global Customer Education and Learning to architect the learning experience for customers of SAP Education. This position will be responsible for the consumer interface to SAP Education, as well as the overall design of the curriculum and learning tools. The head of solution design will be responsible for the learning services product portfolio and the global standards for learning excellence.

This position will work collaboratively across the organization to design the go-to-market learning offerings of SAP. Collaboration skills and the ability to work in a global, complex environment are mandatory. Lead a team of global solution designers

The ideal candidate will be an extraordinary learning design thinker, with a strong portfolio of experiences of making those designs come to life in practical and profitable ways. Ideally the candidate will have worked not only in an internal education role, but will have worked in an IT learning services business environment. This position will own the innovation of learning platforms for the customer, such as the virtual classroom, and will thus require to be not only a proven innovator, but also familiar with learning technologies to shape the future.


  • Continuously rationalize the learning services offering to meet market demands;

  • Ensure a solid new product introduction process to ensure adoption of new offerings by each region;

  • Track product performance;

  • Establish the function of learning solution design, including organization design and recruiting of internal/external candidates;

  • Work closely with the product and innovation SAP team in Waldorf to ensure learning product excellence and timeliness through participation in the product roadmap counil;

  • Gather customer and consumer insights to inform the design of learning solutions;

  • Work with regional Education leads and product heads to understand local markets and unique business needs;

  • Lead or collaborate with the global Education demand generation team to ensure adoption of new learning products.


  • A minimum of 15 years of Education experience with at least 5 in IT education;

  • Prior experience designing learning solutions for the IT marketplace;

  • Demonstrated innovation with consumer-level insights in a learning environment;

  • Proven track record of leadership and management of a global function;

  • Ability to travel globally up to 50% of the time;

  • Exceptional collaboration, communication and consultative skills;

  • Proven ability in design thinking skills, and the courage to navigate to the simplest solutions possible for customers;

  • A sense of urgency in aiding the business to exceptional growth.

  • Experience driving significant change management

  • An ability to apply the principles of design thinking to the learning environment for a consumer-type experience

  • Familiarity with learning technologies to create the learning environment of the future
