Assurant Sr Project Manager - Agile in North Richland Hills, Texas
How do we work? We believe in Agile! We utilize the core agile principles in everything we do. Our teams utilize Kanban and Scrum frameworks. We work closely with our business units, other project managers, technology architects and quality assurance specialists to work tickets through a short lifecycle. Releases occur about every two weeks, so that we have quick feedback loops.
What do we want to see from you? We are seeking self-motivated individuals with the ability to achieve broadly communicated objectives under a minimal amount of supervision. You will provide effective collaboration, facilitation, leadership and coaching skills to the agile development process and delivery of applications, as well as enforcing the agile tenants, removing impediments and promoting empowerment. Our expectations are that you will have a good understanding of Agile and both the Kanban and Scrum frameworks. Have a strong track record of helping others to communicate and collaborate with one another with the goal of understanding and delivering working software. You should believe in driving a culture of transparency through all levels of the organization including the management teams for the business and IT.
Where we work Our office is located in North Richland Hills, Texas, which is a suburb of Fort Worth, but within driving distance of about 20 cities and municipalities. There are tons of great places to eat within walking distance of the office. There are also picnic tables and covered areas outside to eat your pack lunch. There's a library, gyms, stores and even a water park (during the summer months) nearby. Assurant has other offices in Miami, Atlanta, Austin, Milwaukee, and elsewhere. We offer the best of both worlds with a small company environment and big company backing. It's a great place to be.
When we work Core hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., so most everyone will be available during those hours. Some early birds show up at 7 to beat traffic, while others like the quiet office after hours. Vacation is important. Take a vacation. You'll start out with about 3 weeks of vacation plus some floating holidays (we have 6 fixed holidays too). You can carry over 120 hours of vacation year to year, but why should you: The benefits package includes short-term and long-term disability. Take your vacation.
Benefits Speaking of benefits: We have great benefits. Individual, couple and singles health plans. You want a high deductible with an HSA? Or maybe a low deductible with an FSAs. Assurant offers dental and prescription benefits, paid long-term and short-term disability, and employee, spouse and child life insurance. We put money in your HSA for you each year, and will add more when you complete health questionnaires and online programs. We offer a 6% 401K match and 10% discount on Assurant stock purchases. We also have a bonus program, school reimbursement plan and paid training at conferences and the like. You get the point, there are lots of benefits.
