Role Description:

Product Specialist, Value Equities is responsible for meeting with institutional clients, prospects, and intermediaries to explain the investment philosophy, process, and performance of our firm and investment products. Through active engagement and participation in our team investment discussions they will become experts in our strategies, enabling them to provide detailed updates on our portfolios, as well as broader commentary on the financial markets and economy.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Develop & Maintain Expertise in Investment Strategies: Participate in investment meetings to develop a thorough grasp of our philosophy, process, and performance. Establish an in-depth understanding of our investment decisions and portfolio holdings to have the capability to explain portfolio performance, our rationale for owning individual stocks, and portfolio transactions. Review portfolio attribution, index composition, and market data to assist in identifying investment themes or trends that are impacting our portfolios.

  2. Communicate with institutional clients, prospects, and intermediaries: Act as a proxy' for portfolio managers to introduce our firm and strategies to institutional prospects, and provide investment updates to institutional clients. Discussions will include articulation of investment philosophy and process, as well as explanation of portfolio and market performance. Meetings will be held both in-person and by conference call, and will generally be done independently.

  3. Respond to Specific Information Requests from Clients and Prospects: Gather and analyze portfolio, index, and market data to formulate answers to specific client and prospect inquiries. Coordinate with Portfolio Managers to ensure consistency of message.

  4. Participation in RFP Process: Use knowledge of philosophy, process, and performance to assist in the preparation of RFPs for new business development.

  5. Assist in Development & Updates of Marketing and Communication Material: Work with Portfolio Managers and marketing/client service team to develop, improve, and update communication materials and portfolio commentary.

  6. Continuing Education: Improve investment knowledge and ability to provide meaningful insights through self-study, seminars and interaction with Portfolio Managers and Analysts.

  7. Exhibit professional behavior, develop and promote positive working relationships.

  8. Compliance: Understand and adhere to all organization policies, laws and FINRA / SEC regulations applicable to role.

Job Qualifications:


  1. Strong communication and relationship management skills.

  2. CFA Charterholder, or equivalent experience.

  3. Ten years of investment management or related experience.

  4. BA/BS in relevant field.

  5. Understanding of, and high conviction in, value investing principles.

  6. Capability to analyze and articulate factors impacting portfolios and the market.

  7. Ability to travel to conduct meetings.


  1. Prior equity analysis experience.

  2. Prior experience meeting and communicating with institutional investors.

  3. Experience with FactSet, Bloomberg, or comparable analysis tools.
