Role Description:

The Customer Data Management department at First National Bank works in support of the many systems, processes, and data sources across one of the major divisions within the bank. The Sr. Analyst, Data Management position is a key role in the department, responsible for various data management and data governance activities in support of the division and in collaboration with enterprise initiatives.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Lead the process to gather and maintain standard data definitions for each data element, conformed item, and calculated item available for use in the data warehouse

· Coordinate with various departments to establish and maintain standard and consistent definitions

· Identify key performance indicators, as defined by senior management and key stakeholders to ensure alignment with other business units

· Coordinate with the Enterprise Data Management team and related Information Technology teams to ensure alignment of data definition across the enterprise

· Coordinate with IT on the establishment of standard definitions as available fields in the data warehouse

  1. Lead the process to identify, prioritize, and complete data quality improvement initiatives to ensure that high quality, accurate data is available for use in the enterprise data warehouse

· Manage and coordinate data quality improvement efforts from source system inputs to final presentation through the data warehouse

· Participate in enterprise data quality discussions and initiatives to ensure alignment across the bank

  1. Effectively partner with the Enterprise Data Management team and with related Information Technology teams to improve communication and coordination across related efforts

· Participate in IT projects to ensure that data considerations are included in new implementations and modifications

  1. Participate in business intelligence activities in support of business initiatives, which may include:

· Establishing or improving extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes

· Creating or improving analysis services cubes

· Querying data for creation and improvement of semantic layer datasets to feed reporting systems

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to lead presentations and discussions in medium and large group settings

  2. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport and consensus between business and information technology teams/backgrounds

  3. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work efficiently toward completing complex tasks

  4. Ability to extract, summarize, and analyze large sets of data, leveraging querying and reporting tools including SAS, SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio, SQL Server Data Tools (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS), Tableau, and/or Business Objects

  5. Expertise in Microsoft Office products (especially Excel) and in SharePoint site collaboration activities

Job Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent business experience

Strong verbal and written communication skills, must be able lead presentations and discussions to management and cross functional teams

Ability to handle stress, meet deadlines, and work independently and with cross functional teams

Experience using SQL, SAS, or other tools to query, extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in financial services industry

Experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence toolkit (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)

Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server environments
