The Manager, IT Security will be responsible for ensuring robust corporate-wide cyber security. Define, design, implement, maintain, manage, and report on the cyber security for UIL's networks, including but not be limited to: LAN, WAN, firewalls, intrusion prevention, and industrial control systems (SCADA).
Develop, implement, manage, and report on UIL's Cyber Security Program, Team, and Vendors.
Develop, refine, and ensure compliance with a set of cyber security-related policies, processes/procedures, and standards.
Identify, assess, and prioritize threats based on possible impact, system vulnerabilities, and probability of occurrence. For higher priority threats, develop and implement security/mitigation measures.
Develop and implement cyber security performance measures/metrics; and monitor, and regularly report on the status of UIL's Cyber Security Program, and the security and performance of UIL’s cyber security infrastructure, applications, and services.
Function as UIL's subject matter expert on cyber security; and consult and provide cyber security-related guidance/recommendations to internal customers (i.e. business units) and stake holders.
Coordinate with and provide cyber security-related guidance to UIL's other IT areas (e.g. operations, applications, infrastructure, and compliance).
Monitor the evolution/development of security-related technology and recommend appropriate incorporation into UIL's cyber security infrastructure/landscape.

This position requires a BS/BA degree in Business, IT/Computer Science or related field. Professional Certifications in IT/cyber- security (e.g. CISSP, Palo Alto) preferred. Ten years minimum experience required and shall include a minimum of five years in a supervisory/managerial role and minimum of eight years in cyber-security. Position requires extensive technical knowledge and strong administration skills related to Cyber Security technology to include but not limited to: infrastructure, applications, services, authentication, network protocols, architecture, and best practices. Experience in supporting and securing network and information systems in a multi-platform, multi-site environment required. Extensive knowledge of cyber security risks, threat identification, assessment, mitigation measures and compliance knowledge (e.g. NERC CIP, SOX) required. Experience in a utility environment strongly preferred. Must be self-directed and motivated, flexible, capable of managing with changing priorities, and possess strong communications skills.
