Leidos Software Simulation Technical Manager in ORLANDO, Florida


Leidos has a career opportunity for a Software Simulation Technical Manager to support an existing program. In order to be considered for this role, a candidate must have an active DoD Secret clearance. This role is located in Orlando, FL.

Functional Responsibility:

Responsible for leading large simulation software team(s), reviewing software simulation designs, technical planning, software integration, supportability and effectiveness for software development and deployment.

Exhibit familiarity with software engineering principles and software CMM.

Evaluate subcontractor activities, to ensure compliance with software engineering standards.

Staffing, including hiring, training, and conducting performance reviews/counseling sessions.

Participate in customer, management, Systems Engineering (SE), Configuration Management (CM) and Quality Assurance (QA) and Test led meetings and activities including workshops, user feedback sessions, and user training.

Chair team meetings, technical meetings, ticket prioritization boards and configuration control boards.

Demonstrate knowledge of software, simulation, cybersecurity, Information technology ( IT), Release management, document delivery, data management (DM) including software development processes and DM processes using a tailored Agile paradigm related to:

o Define and continually improve process and plans

o Develop estimates for simulation tasking

o Define schedules with specific simulation tasks

o Coordinate with external stakeholders, government customer, management, SE, CM, QA and Test disciplines



BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required.

Must have an active DoD Secret clearance

10+ experience at demonstrably increasing levels of responsibility, with a focus in software simulation engineering.

Must have been technical lead for delivered projects developed with multiple software teams programming in the large.

Direct experience in software requirements analysis, design, integration and test and software reuse.

Broad experience with mainstream software engineering tools and technologies, such as: Java, C/C++, UML/OOD/CASE tools.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

MS Degree in CS, CE or a related field

15+ years of experience with increased levels of responsibility.

Experience managing software simulation teams using OOA/OOD techniques as well as Java, C++ languages, Git, JIRA, Confluence tools, network communications design, and protocols for software development, implementation, methodology design and execution in distributed, multi-tiered development and operations environments.

Experience obtaining an Authorization to Operate (ATO) using DIACAP or RMF(preferred) process ensuring system complies with or addresses vulnerabilities and new cybersecurity requirements.

Experience monitoring team to ensure services and product design, implementation, and product integration are executed in accordance with approved program processes across teams and tasks as well as to ensure on-time delivery of a high quality product, submitting status and supporting higher level status meetings with management, customer, and end users.

Experience working in the execution of prior duties identifying, monitoring and addressing issues, action items, dependencies, assumptions and risks.
