The Field Marketing Manager is a ‘player/manager role’. S/he will lead the demand generation activities for ANSYS simulation products in the region by developing, and executing effective marketing programs for the sales teams. This position manages local marketing resources and works closely with key program stakeholders globally including product marketing managers, industry marketing managers, technical product managers, sales and support teams.

The preferred candidate will have the ability to develop scalable marketing programs based on their understanding of key industry trends, strategic market opportunities and sales priorities.


  • Lead the local marketing team to motivate and grow human resources while achieving demand generation targets.

  • Plans / localize demand generation marketing programs to grow sales pipeline for the sales organization

  • Identify new local PR opportunities following Corporate guidelines.

  • Foster business relationships with key customers and business / channel partners

  • Manage the lead qualification and handover process to Inside Sales / Sales Rep. and Partners to ensure the appropriate sales channels are receiving and following up on leads

  • Track results and develop ways to continually improve key metrics.

  • Identifies new tactics to connect with market across all personas including users, managers and executives

  • Design and execute, in collaboration with Corporate, a digital strategy for all campaigns, including social media, online assets, website & content. In addition, collaborate with Corporate in driving publishing content (Blogs), sharing platforms (YouTube), discussion forums (WebEx/Live Chats) and social (Xing/Twitter/LinkedIn)

  • Manage multiple suppliers and marketing budget to ensure effective delivery of marketing services as well as follow the correct procurement and finance processes.

  • Nurtures existing leads through digital content, events and other persona appropriate marketing methods.

  • Manage internal marketing to keep all the people aware of main mktg initiatives and results

  • Track results; manage the lead qualification and handover process to Inside Sales a report on KPIs including ROI. Develop ways to continually improve key metrics. Provide regular updates (written and verbal) to project stakeholders and management on progress against milestones, risks to delivery, resource requirements, and project plans


  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing management

  • Proven ability to work closely and successfully with a sales organization

  • Proven ability to successfully execute a variety of marketing programs, including targeted direct mail and email, field events, social media, executive engagements, awareness campaigns

  • Technology-savvy, with keen interest in emerging technologies and ‘all things digital’, including marketing automation, lead management strategies (lead scoring, lead nurturing, etc.), CRM systems and sales processes. Strong digital marketing background and is preferred. Knowledge of Sitecore, ExactTarget and Salesforce is a plus.

  • Strong track record of B2B field marketing and demand generation (especially lead generation and nurturing, marketing campaign execution and measurement). Detailed understanding and application of demand generation within a solutions / technical sales environment

  • Ability to work very independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams

  • Strong analytics, reporting, and written communication skills

  • Rigorous attention to detail and focus on quality of deliverables

  • Experienced in managing a small team of people

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and can create copy in support of marketing programs.

  • German and English language skills are essential. Any other language skills would be a plus.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with multiple stakeholders

  • Organized and capable of managing multiple projects at once from planning, execution, measurement and follow up

  • Passion for technology and engineering. Knowledge of CAD / CAE / PLM market is a plus.


This role is based in Otterfing (Munich) office and will require about 20% of time dedicated to travels in Europe for meetings and events management. The applicants must be eligible to travel to USA as trips to HQ can be required.
