PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Lead Manager, Retirement Plan Services (RPS) Institutional Marketing is responsible for working closely with sales to acquire targeted clients in the Mid- to Mega market. This role develops and executes a highly customized sales approach, outlines a win theme and executes all marketing support through sales finals, working closely with the entire deal team from concept to close. Additionally, as our Clients perform their regular due diligence of partner reviews, we see this as a sales opportunity to re-enforce the decision to choose T. Rowe Price. As Lead Manager, this role works closely with sales and the relationship management team on the “rebid” process, rebid readiness program execution through to the finals presentation. This position collaborates closely with the Sales, Business Development, Client Services and the Product and Marketing organization to deliver on our firms’ brand promise and the RPS value proposition.
The lead manager is responsible for supporting all aspects of the sales finals presentation(s). Working from the sales identified win plan; the lead manager translates the win plan into a creative theme for a highly customized sales experience. The lead manager outlines the sales presentation flow, identifies key messaging and proof points and coordinates with the presentation team for execution. This role oversees the development and execution of all collateral needed in support of the sales meetings. The lead manager works with the product team if new products and services are identified for the custom win theme. As lead manager, this role works with the entire deal team to for optimal sales delivery preparation. Works closely with onsite logistical coordination, for seamless and optimal onsite sales experience.
In a similar fashion as a new client sales opportunity, this role collaborates closely with the sales person and the relationship manager for retention of our top clients as they perform due diligence partner reviews. The lead manager translates the win plan into a creative theme for a highly customized sales-retention experience. The lead manager outlines the presentation flow, identifies key messaging, client-relevant proof points and coordinates with the presentation team for execution. This role oversees the development and execution of all collateral needed in support of the rebid meeting(s).The lead manager works with the product team if new products and services are identified for the custom win theme. As lead manager, this role work with the entire service team to for optimal presentation delivery. Works closely with onsite logistical coordination, for seamless and optimal onsite client experience.
Researches industry trends, gathers competitive information and identifies new opportunities through data analysis; reports on the effectiveness and utilization of presentations to influence the overall sales and retention story. Makes recommendations for new opportunities (whether brand new or re-engineered programs) based on findings and feedback on programs, strategies, and existing work that is underway.
Acts as a consultative partner with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the right work is prioritized in order to have the largest impact to meet our sales and retention efforts. Independently leads meetings with key stakeholders to review ideas and client solutions. Through consultative interactions and effective project management, obtains feedback and consensus on projects that are slated to ensure support and commitment. Through facilitated and targeted discussions, ensures strategies being developed are durable, sustainable, and translatable into the overall RPS story and aligned with core RPS directives and the value proposition. Leads projects and provides direction to creative group and technical resources to ensure marketing communications programs are properly executed, appropriate and rolled out to our internal and external clients.
College degree and 8 years of related work experience, or Associate degree and 10 years related work experience.
Marketing or project management related experience
Deep understanding of strategic marketing and corporate brand creation
Proficient understanding of the creative development and production process
Knowledge of marketing concepts; i.e., brand positioning, architecture, story development, and competitive assessment
Awareness of current design solutions, creative approaches and industry trends
Demonstrates creativity in thought and design
Possesses strong organizational and project management skills
Independent worker who is results driven
Maintain clear focus and demonstrate accountability
Ability to lead a project team and coordinate the responsibilities and input of all participants
Strong analytical approach to problem solving
Demonstrated ability to confidently interact with and influence at multiple levels of the RPS and TRP organization including senior management

Excellent communication skills -- interpersonal, verbal and written
Financial services industry experience
College degree in mass communications or marketing and 8 years related work experience preferred.
Master’s degree in mass communications or marketing or MBA with a minimum of 10 years of marketing and/or communications experience
Significant experience in the defined contribution business
Solid understanding of investment principles and mutual funds
