PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The position serves as a compliance and risk subject matter expert for one or more of the USIS segment (s) and acts as a consultant by partnering with the USIS Business Segment leads to proactively identify and manage the risk and compliance requirements for the segment to ensure alignment with strategic priorities, regulatory requirements and client needs including oversight, training and ongoing associate education. The position is responsible for coordinating and managing activities related to applicable Firm (Code of Ethics), regulatory, (SEC), and industry (FINRA) rules, policies, and procedures for USIS. The position identifies how new or changes to existing policy and regulations will impact the USIS business segment and works directly with the USIS Compliance Manager and Business Leads to determine and implement the most effective approach to comply given systems, operational capabilities and client service requirements. The associate will interface with a variety of TRP personnel including Legal and Group Compliance contacts to resolve high priority/impact oversight issues.
Coordinates activities for the compliance process repository in ECM, including annual process review and oversight of inventory control. Provides a high level of support to the USIS Compliance Manager in monitoring the performance of the USIS Compliance Program and related activities including coordination and reporting of results of periodic audits and making recommendations to improve effectiveness of the Programs. Provides oversight and guidance for associate NASD licensing requirements and act as interface between Legal and USIS associates. Constructs and issues periodic compliance reports for review and approval by the USIS Risk & Compliance Officer and submission to TRP Group Compliance.
Coordinates USIS Response /Activities related to new Initiatives/ Regulations. Makes necessary modifications to policies and procedures related to internal controls as changes in applicable rules, regulations, standards and related trends relevant to the USIS Compliance Program are identified in order to minimize identified risks. Acts as project lead for assigned compliance-related projects
Serves as Subject Matter Expert to the USIS staff on compliance related issues. Consults with USIS managers on new firm-wide or divisional policies, guiding them on matters related to implementation and compliance; monitors ongoing compliance across all segment teams. Designs and executes education and training programs for USIS employees whose functions or responsibilities involve compliance with applicable firm policy and regulatory and industry laws, including introductory training for new employees and ongoing training for USIS employees. Acts as subject-matter expert and consultant for USIS Sales and Service associates on policy applications to client interface activities.
Coordinates/leads projects designed to resolve various process issues using knowledge of best practices, systems, policy requirements and client service needs to implement the development of solutions that improve overall efficiencies. Solutions may involve other USIS business group or enterprise units including Legal and IT. May also require presenting a business case to USIS management on benefits of changes which may make it easier for TRP clients to do business with TRP and USIS associates to do business with their clients.
Collaborates and partners on an as needed basis with USIS and other enterprise resources to resolve client concerns and to provide operational capabilities that allow external USIS clients to achieve their investment and service objectives and internal clients to service those clients more effectively within the confines of firm, regulatory, and industry requirements. Coordinates all aspects of projects assigned including project planning/tracking, stakeholder communications, management reporting, and solution execution
College degree and 1 year of related work experience, or Associate degree and 3 years related work experience, or High School diploma/equivalent and 5 years related work experience
