PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
As a crucial part of SAP's total solution delivery strategy, SAP Field Services focuses on the overall success of customers' SAP solutions. One essential element in SAP's continued success is the services portfolio offered by SAP Consulting and its certified partners, whereby consulting, implementation, and optimization services are delivered throughout the entire solution life cycle.
The Delivery Executive is a senior leader who focuses on transformational program management, which requires the combination of deep subject matter and industry expertise in project and program management. The ideal candidate will have had recent customer-facing experience, as well as exposure to compliance, strategy development, and supporting the license and consulting sales and bid management processes.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Build credibility / trust with assigned customers during the deal execution phase. Assists the SAP license sales and services teams in closing of software deals by providing oversight on implementation planning & estimating, and coordinating multiple SAP LOBs and partners as required.
Builds credibility / trust with customers in solution support and solution implementation phase, continually reinforce the value of SAP solutions and services by establishing proactive relationships that provide the foundation for future. This includes creating long term value roadmap and plans with customer to achieve customer business objectives.
Work with Customer Stakeholders, Partners and Senior SAP Management to effectively manage and lead large, complex and mostly global programs to ensure successful completion and significant impact on customer business KPI. This includes analyzing and executing on strategic projects, building consensus among stakeholders, ensuring alignment of project tactics with corporate strategy and communicating project goals at a strategic level as well as actively identifying and developing business opportunities.
During implementations, manage overall services relationship, including sponsor, steering committee and program office, between customer, partner and SAP to ensure that projects / programs are delivered on-time, within budget and with the highest levels of customer satisfaction through billable consulting. Manage expectations on the development of solid program plans, with milestones and clear deliverables (in IT and business terms), and furthermore, proper program governance is in place to enable quick execution on the plans, handling risks, issues and objections.
In some cases (Very Large Enterprise Customers) the tasks might include the overall responsibility to globally manage all SAP delivery, starting with the development of long-term value realization plans that jointly define the portfolio of projects necessary to successfully support the transformation of the customer’s business.
Position SAP to win sales opportunities by developing, communicating and driving effective selling strategies that are based on valid, customer-specific value propositions.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Master's degree, MBA or equivalent training and job experience. PMP or PMP certification and/or other industry and project management certifications. Expert level knowledge of SAP methodologies. Global cultural awareness and respect. Preferred to have hands-on management experience in a multi-national environment. Organizationally savvy: appropriately aggressive, yet cool and respectful, professional presence.
Must have 10 or more years of demonstrated ability to lead and/or manage large, complex programs on time, on budget, and within quality criteria. This should include at least 5 years’ experience leading global template creation and rollouts, managing large number of subcontractors, managing prime contracts over 10´000 man days and/or or 10M budgets. Preference given to individuals with experience in the Agile and A2O methodologies.
