SAP Analytics solutions are shipped with an extensibility framework, which allows customers and individual developers to create own Visualization and Data Access Extensions. The Product Management group of SAP Analytics is expanding its efforts to grow and nurture a Developer Community with the ultimate goal of driving the solutions’ adoption.

To reach our goals, we collaborate tightly with developers from SAP and from our most innovative customers and partners. We develop extensions, service the community by managing the open sourcing process and maintain the online presence on SAP communities.


We embrace young talent and new ideas in our team; as an intern, you will be a full team member and we encourage you to take initiative and responsibility. Our internships are typically 6 months in duration, and in some cases (e.g.,. if you have classes) the internship can be part-time.

  • As a member of the SAP Analytics Developer Community team, you will support and own a number of different activities.

  • Develop: Develop Visualization Extensions for solutions like SAP Lumira and SAP Design, and support other developers

  • Online Presence: Maintain a public profile on SAP community pages by updating existing assets, writing new blogs and supporting developers and users

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of published and to-be-published extensions

  • Process: Manage the open sourcing process by being the link between developers, legal, IP and other such organizations within SAP

  • Feedback: Provide feedback to SAP development teams based on your hands-on experience


To succeed in this job, you need to be an experienced JavaScript developer, a strong communicator, take initiative and be organized. You are currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related technical field.

Skills required:

  • Deep knowledge in JavaScript, Data Driven Documents (D3.js).

  • Knowledge in jQuery, HTML and CSS

  • Excellent writing and layout skills to create capturing, easy to consume and impactful online presence

  • Talent and patience to embrace and manage corporate processes as a service to developers

  • Confidence and ‘presence’ to host online and onsite events with an audience of 100 and more

  • Excellent problem solving and implementation skills


  • Developed visual components or applications using: D3.js, CSS and HTML

  • Created impactful online presence (web pages, wiki pages): look & feel, structured, to-the-point writing & layout

  • took initiative to bring a great project to an even better level

Location and Duration:

  • Onsite in Palo Alto, CA, for 6 months and longer, starting immediately (November/December 2016)
