Purpose & Objective of Position

The SAP Startup Focus program is a board-level priority program with a charter to extend the reach and adoption of the SAP HANA platform beyond the existing SAP ecosystem. It works with all areas of the organization – solutions, sales, services, support, etc. – driving platform adoption activities at global, regional and local levels, across all startup market segments.

This position will be a critical function to support the global SAP Startup Focus team.

Expectations & Tasks

  • The SAP Startup Focus graduate intern will work across the Startup Focus team, interacting with individual startup companies, organizations and alliance partners in the program, along with internal SAP teams. The selected candidate will be responsible for a variety of topics; some of the representative duties will include the following:

  • Collect, review and analyze essential data to enable smooth and seamless transition for a startup moving through the various stages of the SAP Startup Focus program

  • Formally document and report to ensure successful completion of every project

  • Provide periodic input on work stream status and operational/logistical issues

  • Write blogs, actively engage on social media and create Brand-consistent content to drive through various social media channels

  • Drive community and marketing efforts to engage successful startups via traditional marketing channels and at major SAP/non-SAP events

  • Work with startups to write, edit, and maintain collateral, including newsletters and web content

  • Assist with sponsorship fulfillment and management

Skills / Competencies

  • Proven ability to learn on the job and work independently

  • Some technical skills would be preferred including the ability to create & edit html pages, comfort with JavaScript and working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop

  • Competence in working with / professionally using Social Media

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Diplomacy and communication, especially listening, are critical success factors

  • Comfort with navigating and working within a complex and geographically dispersed matrix organization

  • Strong problem-solving skills

Educational Requirements

  • Education: Must be currently enrolled in either a B.S. or B.A. in marketing, business or related degree.
