• Ph.D. in materials science, chemical engineering, or chemistry, with 0-3 years of experience post-graduation • Deep knowledge of nanoporous polymer synthesis such as aerogels, with hands-on experience with their design, fabrication and characterization • Hands-on experience on polymer synthesis by controlled radical and condensation polymerization • Highly self-motivated and capable of developing, leading, and executing his/her own experimental plan • Strong academic achievement as demonstrated by publications and/or patents • Passion for entrepreneurship and commercialization of new technologies • Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
Strongly Desired Qualifications:
• Experience in the development of functional polymers for energy-related applications • Experience in the characterization of optical properties of thin polymer films
The candidate will lead the nanoporous polymer synthesis work at PARC on a major funded project. We also expect the candidate to advance PARC’s polymer-synthesis capabilities on other projects, and to explore new opportunities. It is expected that the candidate will work closely with team members, subcontractors, vendors, and market-facing partners.
