About the Job
PARC is seeking an engineering researcher with experience in circuits and software to support projects in the Energy Devices & Systems Area in the Hardware Systems Lab. Potential project areas include sensor systems for energy applications, electrocaloric cooling devices, and printed, flexible and wearable sensor systems, among others. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about learning new technologies and techniques and diving into challenging interdisciplinary projects. PARC researchers have considerable opportunity to develop and pursue new research directions.
Responsibilities will vary and may include some or all of the following:
• PCB-level mixed-signal circuit design • Development of application software • Development of embedded software • Designing and running laboratory experiments • Transistor-level design of printed organic circuits • Data analysis, signal processing, machine learning
• M.S. (Ph.D. preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related technical field • Strong background in digital and mixed-signal circuit design • Software development (C++, Python, Java, etc.) • Hands-on laboratory experience • Ability to communicate effectively with scientists and engineers across a broad range of fields • Strong communication skills
Additional Desirable Experience
• PCB design and layout • Transistor-level circuit design • SPICE simulation • Embedded systems design and programming • Experience with organic, amorphous silicon, polysilicon, or metal-oxide transistors or circuits • Control systems • Matlab or equivalent • LabVIEW or equivalent
