Food Safety Quality & Regulatory (FSQR) Sr. Lab Technician – Paris, IL
Kelly Services is currently seeking a Food Safety Quality & Regulatory (FSQR) Sr. Lab Technician for one of our top clients in Paris, IL.
As a Food Safety Quality & Regulatory (FSQR) Sr. Lab Technician placed with Kelly Services, you will be responsible for compiling process and shipment data, using statistical methods and statistical software tools, for products and calibration of analytical equipment.
30% - Sampling and approving finished product shipments including blending operations and quality resource including trouble shooting and root cause/corrective actions 20% - Analyzing products: granulations, moistures, fats, proteins, ash, mycotoxins 20% - Quality Assurance audits to include food safety systems, calibration of equipment, etc. 10% - Contract laboratory/outside testing (PCR, micro, filth, pesticide residue) 10% - Maintaining databases, producing reports and paperwork 5% - Sample requests and research and development 5% - Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Approving all food, feed and non-food product shipments on a real time, 24 hour 7 days a week, shift basis. Communication and deployment of quality assurance programs associated with food safety, employee safety, and sanitation. Internal food process audits and reporting of analytical information to management and customers. Maintain qualified 3rd party contracted laboratory support including round robin programs and correlation of analytical programs at local operations as outlined by local standard operating procedures. Preparation and distribution of customer samples as associated with potential sales, and correlation with customer laboratories. Prepare analyticals associated with customer paperwork, databases and report information/data for shipped products. Quality resource for production operation 24 hours a day to support blending operation. Process troubleshooting, including investigation and corrective actions (CRT system) as related to non-conformances associated with food safety systems, product manufacturing and customer related issues with product or services. Analytical support/resource for product research, and grain receiving as related to assurance of whole grain to the milling facility and the ability to cover vacancies.
A minimum of 2 year degree in Chemistry, Food Science or related field OR minimum of 3 years’ experience in food, pharma, or related industry as laboratory tech/support Knowledge of spreadsheets, database and word processing computer skills A minimum of one year lab experience Ability to work a rotating schedule as assigned including a weekend on-call rotation
4-year degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or related field = preferred Knowledge in quality systems is desired
