This position is responsible for providing strategic technical leadership across multiple programs that seek to improve the security architecture strategy across all aspects of Comcast. Identifies the technologies necessary to assure success of the plans and roadmaps aimed at future state security objectives, rationalization of incumbent and emerging security tools, and continuous improvement of risk and protection capabilities. Liaise between senior leadership teams across Comcast's footprint and will work across technical engineering, governance and compliance teams across the Brands to assure achievement of strategic technical goals. Formulate strategic security solutions that meet or exceed best in class protection objectives critical for securing Comcast diverse lines of business, affiliates, enterprise and infrastructure assets, media and content delivery services, and cost effective achievement of compliance objectives. Able to credibly coordinate between technical teams and business stakeholders, and can execute both strategically and tactically. Balance business risk and need, cost and complexity, sustainability and technical agility, to aide delivery of transformational security tools.

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

Security Architecture Strategy

  • Assist in setting the overall cyber security architecture direction for the enterprise, to ensure consistency where practical
  • Serve as an escalation point for security architecture decisions that span multiple business divisions
  • Define enterprise level cyber security control framework, and manage traceability between business strategy and cyber security controls and mechanisms
  • Help Establish an enterprise-wide process to evaluate cyber security tools & vendors, maintain a catalog of approved and preferred tools, and assist business divisions with tool rationalization where feasible
  • Contribute to the cyber security roadmap for enterprise level systems, and ensure alignment with strategy

Security Architecture Innovation and Roadmaps

  • Conducts expert level security and technology research and presents to highly technical audiences and peer work groups
  • Develops, publishes and presents leading edge security technical white papers and research projects
  • Designs security architecture frameworks and referential architectural guidelines for achieving technical security objectives
  • Applies complex technical and security solutions to business problems
  • Presents and communicates complex concepts to a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Coordinates the rationalization of incumbent and new architectures and technical solutions
  • Converts security policy and compliance objectives to strategic, implementable technical solutions and security standards
  • Assists stakeholders with facilitation of strategic technology planning activities, documentation of strategies, technical roadmaps and security tool rationalization

Experience & Skills

  • Strong networking knowledge and understanding of IPV6
  • Ability to design and architect large complex network environments
  • Highly collaborative with ability to articulate ideas and influence peers and senior leaders
  • In-depth knowledge of emerging technology trends; ideally within the media and telecommunications industries
  • Expertise with a wide variety of cyber security vendors and tools, and experience designing and managing vendor evaluation processes
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, and excellent written and oral communication & presentation skills
  • Strong executive presence and demonstrated ability to develop strong executive relationships
