SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Project Director Operations Asset Management coordinates multiple technology implementations within Operations and is responsible for ensuring the development of high-quality technology solutions. He/She coordinates across maintenance departments and works with field maintenance forces, functional leads, and technical teams. Responsible for defining future state asset management practices and ensuring an enterprise view is taken.
Asset Management focuses directly on assisting the maintenance organizations to improve functionality of systems, resources, processes and procedures to improve the effectiveness of the department’s work force and the assets they maintain. Ensures that information generated through technical applications for the purpose of managing assets and workforce is integrated with Enterprise Asset Management System (EAM) system development. Ensures that the EAM utilizes work and asset management technologies to maximize the performance of the workforce and assets as well as ensure regulatory compliance of all inspection requirements.
The Project Director Operations Asset Management will be responsible to ensure that project implementations are aligned with the strategic and operational needs of the department. He/She will coordinate across significant, Operations-wide asset management projects, with large budgets and sizeable staff, focused on meeting project commitments, including communications with sponsors, stakeholders, etc.
The Project Director Operations Asset Management will spend the majority of time on project management responsibilities while driving organizational change and taking full account of obstacles, opposition, and differing stakeholder priorities. He/She will act as the champion for business process changes and work behind the scenes to craft solutions for business problems related or tangential to the project. He/She will serve as the coordinator across the maintenance departments; focused on building a healthy and positive work environment where collaboration and transparency are the main components of the team.
•Direct multiple concurrent product implementations for applications of technologies that enable Operations to do business with increased productivity and bottom-line improvement
•Resolve or assist in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas; provide corrective supervision if necessary
•Present oral and written reports defining plans, problems, and resolutions to appropriate levels of management
•Provide advice and counsel to the vendor relationship decisionmaking and contract development processes
•Demonstrate superior collaboration skills and techniques which appropriately define alternate solutions; resolve conflicts; and create lasting, productive partnerships
•Utilize a network of relationships to collect and disseminate information, build support, and secure buy in for desired objectives
•Measure service provider performance. Identify and confirm performance problems; develop and implement improvements as needed
•Generate appropriate communication, process and educational plans for mitigating the disruption of change. Identify and remove obstacles to change
•Defuse emotional charged situations and use them to constructively build greater shared commitment to end goals
•Actively participate in cross-functional groups to solve problems across projects
•Meet regularly with team to gather work statuses. Discuss work progress and obstacles. Provide advice, guidance, encouragement and constructive feedback. Ensure work, information, ideas and technology flow freely among the teams
•Identify the roles, skills and knowledge of resources required to successfully implement projects. Ensure staff has the resources and skills needed to support all work initiatives
•Establish measurable individual and team objectives that are aligned with business and organizational goals. Document and present performance assessments
•Recognize and reward team commensurate with performance. Implements organizational practices for staffing, EEO, diversity, performance management, development, reward and recognition, and retention
•Demonstrated, increasingly responsible experience, with some experience managing increasingly complex projects in a technical environment
•Requires demonstrated experience in managing multiple teams and building relationships with people at a variety of levels
•Requires demonstrated ability to launch and deliver one or more IT projects at the same time
•Requires demonstrated experience in preparing and managing budgets over $1M annually
•Requires demonstrated expertise in multiple technical environments
•Demonstrated high level of business knowledge in asset management
•Viewed as an expert, highly sought after resource, a key advisor to business partners
•Ability to manage small to large teams of people responsible for delivering IT solutions for the business
•Able to work effectively and efficiently toward goals in a complex, diverse environment with multiple and changing demands
•Known for effective leadership of staff with a passion for client satisfaction
•Demonstrates superior inter-personal skills, conflict resolution, and negotiating skills
PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE:
•Some experience in transportation industry
