Your tasks and responsibilities
The U.S. HR Leadership Development Program position is to develop high potential talents and future leaders for the Bayer Human Resources community. The selected candidates will participate in an 24- month cross HR function rotational program which will include assignments at different geographic locations in the US or abroad. In this Program, you will report to a Senior Human Resources Manager in the US and will receive exposure to different aspects of HR, including assignments at different Bayer locations and visibility to senior leaders throughout our global HR organization.
The primary responsibilities of this role, U.S. HR Leadership Development Program (HRLDP) are to:
•Achieve pre-defined learning objectives in various Human Resources departments and possibly to ensure a common understanding and skill set as related to Human Resources processes and procedures and gain as much knowledge as possible in the various parts of the organization; •Obtain an overview of the different areas of Human Resources community in order to foster the understanding and collaboration between departments necessary to successfully function in a leadership capacity at some point in the future; •Establish performance goals with upper management, receive education in company policies that effect the business and monitor the progress of his/her performance with key trainers and senior management; •Observe and work with experienced staff to gain knowledge about procedures, methods and standards that are required for performing successfully within the Human Resources organization; •Network and build the foundation for effective and long term relationships within the International Bayer Human Resources community; •Gain a basic knowledge of the various human resources systems (SAP, etc.) and Bayer Human Resources processes, laws and policies.
During the 24-month rotational Program, you will be given the opportunity to make key contributions in five areas of our HR organization, including:
•HR Centers of Expertise: Design and develop state-of-the-art tools and instruments to support our business objectives; •HR Business Partners: Provide line management with consultancy on issues and strategic HR initiatives; •HR Shared Service Center: Support central Human Resources procedures and processes, such as payroll, recruiting, and compensation and benefit administration. •Other: Gain experience with the human resources issues in our production sites or abroad.
Who you are
Required qualifications: Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
•Master’s degree in Human Resources or other related HR program with at least one (1) internship of at least two (2) months duration in a related field; •Minimum GPA of 3.5 in a HR Master’s program; •Practical experience gained through internship(s) in a Human Resources function and broad knowledge of the various areas of HR; •Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to network and build effective working relationships; •Strong analytical and strategic skills; •Strong problem solving skills; •Demonstrated leadership competencies and strong organizational skills •Ability to collaborate with leaders and their teams to ensure that strategies, structures and processes support business and operating results; •High level of motivation, energy, a passion for excellence, self-confidence, self-starter and the ability to work independently; •Advanced level skills with Microsoft Office; •Willingness to relocate as required by Bayer (national & international).
Preferred qualifications: •Fluent in a second language; •At least one (1) semester of International studies abroad; •Master’s degree in HR from a Bayer HRLDP partner school.
