Your tasks and responsibilities

The Manager, Data Management provides perspective and recommendations by analyzing and evaluating factors that affect the four sales controllables (Distribution, Pricing, Shelving, and Promotion), in order to achieve sales objectives. Plan, develop and deliver customer and category leadership strategies/tactics around the four sales controllables for Bayer brands within assigned customer markets. These plans should focus on accomplishing quarterly/annual sales volume with effective and efficient trade execution. Provides turnkey selling solutions that address account business-building opportunities. Leads Customer Category Management initiatives and Business Intelligence for the account team and categories. 1. Participate in business-planning sessions that address the four sales controllables with the Business/Sales Development Managers, Team Leaders and/or the Category Business Managers. 2. Plan and develop customer-specific Business Intelligence Leadership programs(through analysis that results in actionable sales data/plans that are in alignment with brand strategies) with a focus on improving distribution, merchandising, pricing, and shelving. 3. Participate in team selling in order to penetrate customers at multiple levels within their organization. 4. Align customer-specific strategies and tactics that result in actionable sales plans with other area businesses to ensure business alignment with national priorities and sales objectives. 5. Lead the application of Business Intelligence based principles and process. Ensure the business and customer specific goals are accomplished by working with the Customer Manager and Category Manager for the specific account or market area. 6. Provide business team and customer recommendations and identify business opportunities as they relate to the 4 sales controllables. 7. Define data requirements, scope and analytical know-how in support of schematic development, product mix, category definition, and profitability and segment development. Lead and oversee advanced analytics development. Prioritize analysis based project scope, potential ROI and account urgencies. 8. Lead development/create sales tools and templates based on fact- based analysis for use in business planning sessions. 9. Supervise the Assistant CIM and/or CSA to ensure timely and accurate data analysis, and effectively manage the development of direct reports. 10. Lead Bayer leadership initiatives for all respective customers and categories.

More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following; Knowledge equivalent to B.S./B.A. degree (MBA desired) with 8 years of progressive experience in a variety of disciplines including but not limited to category management, Data Management and financial analysis and/or equivalent years of education/experience. Must have a Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record. Ability to travel as necessary or required Also, the incumbent should have had exposure to multiple channel sales development (i.e., acknowledging the differences of vertical versus marketplace management). He/She should have a basic understanding of customer service, logistics, and overall retail operations. They are operational in focus. These experiences must have produced personal competencies in communication with an emphasis on good oral/written skills that allow for clear and concise presentations. He/She should also have developed a solid critical thinking platform with the ability to problem solve utilizing financial analysis while streamlining processes. The incumbent is one who is driven for results, possessing the functional/technical skills to do the work, while focusing on the needs of the customers. He/She should demonstrate the ability to function in a team environment by providing feedback for decision making. The incumbent should also possess strong negotiation, planning, and process management skills. He/She must be able to provide analytical perspective based on analysis of syndicated data and/or customer specification data, current issues, and expertise within category that influences decisions and contributes to attainment of sales objectives, strategies and tactics. Must be organized, forward thinking and proactive in developing business building selling solutions. He/She must be able to integrate corporate objectives into account level business building solutions.
