POSITION SUMMARY:* Registered technologist, At the administrative direction of the Director of Imaging Services and the clinical direction of the Radiologist and Team Leader, independently perform the majority of exams with minimal supervision done within the section of Radiology.


Competently operate the section’s imaging equipment while performing procedures in a safe and optimal manner. Review medical record for patient history and pertinent clinical information. Transfer patient to imaging table, explain procedure and position the patient according to protocol. Administer applicable contrast media as prescribed by the radiologist, by oral or intravenous (IV) means. Recognize and respond to hypersensitivity or allergic reaction. Perform quality control procedures at the designated intervals on imaging and ancillary equipment to ensure compliance with Federal and Joint Commission standards of care. Organize daily work schedule and respond to emergencies as necessary. Demonstrate competency in the use of all applicable aspects of the Radiology Information System (RIS), and other computer systems unique to each imaging section. Perform on-call duties and / or work variable shifts as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned
