The SAP Ariba Business Process Consultant is charged with customer focused delivery and Ariba solution expertise. The Business Process Consultant is responsible for achieving sound, high quality deliverables on time and within budget. The Business Process Consultant has a wide experience in the sourcing, procurement and business commerce processes and deep understanding of the value of the different Ariba solutions for the customer. Business Process Consultants are focused on the rapid transformation of client organizations into world-class users of collaborative business commerce solutions, through innovative, high-quality, global Spend Management and Network Solutions that create sustainable bottom-line results. As a member of the Business Commerce Services Team, the Business Process Consultant serves as Ariba Solutions expert on application functionality and technical requirements. He/she is responsible for effectively applying the WAO (‘Work As One’) methodology. Business Process Consultants can work on all aspects of the implementation process including participation in the sales process, in developing scope of work and requirements gathering, in managing the client relationship, managing the project and coordinating the technical resources. The Business Process Consultant does understand the commercial aspects of an engagement and feels personally responsible for delivering a successful and profitable project to the customer.
Core to the Business Process Consultant skillset are strong analytical capabilities, good communication and presentation skills, ability to deal with fluid environments, problem solve, operate independently, influence decision makers, as well as the ability to think outside of the box and work within the delivery team to provide the client with world-class service on a consistent basis. The Functional consultant does have a proven track record of delivering high quality results in a professional environment. High energy and impetus combined with an appetite for learning.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Focus & Delivery
Dedicated to delivering exceptional results.
Develops positive relationships with the client team.
Uses knowledge of customer’s business and industry to assess findings and shape solutions.
Makes the client successful within the realm and scope of the Statement of Work (SOW).
Influences the opinions and decisions of clients using understanding of client’s organizational processes and structure.
Speaks to a variety of customers from different departments, at different levels and in large or small groups (e.g. client project manager, technical team).
Identifies and anticipates the requirements associated with a client business model.
Demonstrates a strong understanding of the WAO program and the value it can provide to customers and ACS.
Makes decisions based on sound judgment under pressure and without need for referral.
Prepares reports and delivers face-to-face presentations to individuals or groups in order to inform or educate them.
Leads customers through the lifecycle of an Ariba implementation
Guides customers through the design process to make decisions with full visibility into Ariba Best Practices.
Assists customers in the development of processes and procedures, which leverage Ariba solution functionality being deployed.
Writes solution design documents.
Plans and manages project tasks and resources to ensure deliverables are on time and within budget, and meets quality standards to achieve high customer satisfaction.
Works with Managers and Senior Managers to establish customer satisfaction programs and other Key Performance Indicators.
Develops and delivers a project plan that will enable profitable delivery of the value proposition sold.
Identifies opportunities within the engagement to enhance/improve revenue.
Identifies and escalates project issues.
Demonstrates influence and personal authority adapting style to manage company or cultural differences.
Shares expertise through training and communications with customers ensuring knowledge transfer and the desired level of self-sufficiency is achieved.
Plans and manages project tasks and resources to ensure deliverables are on time, within budget, and meet quality standards to achieve high customer satisfaction.

Ariba Solution Expertise
Applies a broad knowledge of spend management applications/solutions and Commerce Cloud to solve client problems and challenges.
Gathers solution, customer and industry knowledge by leveraging the appropriate resources (internally at Ariba and externally at the client).
Synthesizes learning’s into a logical story using quantitative/qualitative data and/or sound reasoning.
Able to identify key issues that will drive adoption of Commerce Cloud functionality.
Quickly learns new Ariba solutions in order to present them credibly and confidently to clients and Ariba consultants.
Conversant with the features, functionality and applicability of discrete areas of the Ariba Commerce Cloud suite, as well as possess expert knowledge in at least one area of the Commerce Cloud suite.
Successfully execute tasks and activities at all project phases and build an exemplary track record in providing client satisfaction.
Assists in refining existing and in developing new intellectual property and methodology, frameworks and tools (e.g. questionnaires, presentations, implementation methodology, and performance management) based on project experience, research, and analysis.
Assists in developing and leading trainings on area of expertise.
Actively uses established knowledge sharing processes and systems.
Contributes to knowledge capital.
Completes required internal administration accurately and on time.
Proactively collaborates with teammates to anticipate and respond to issues that could impact solution delivery (e.g. change in scope).

Serves as liaison between customer and Ariba internal teams such as TSC, GSO, Product and Technical Support, Sales, Field Technology, Product Management and Training.

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or technical discipline. Masters degree or MBA preferred
A minimum of four to six years experience with “Big 5” consulting firm or comparable in systems implementation, process re-engineering or a related discipline
Broad knowledge of spend management strategies and/or procurement, sourcing, category management, vendor performance management
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage large scale projects is a plus
Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
Industry experience, a plus
Exposure to multicultural scenarios / international work experience a plus
Strong analytical and organizational talent
Experience with Ariba solutions preferred
Demonstrated Project Management or PMI preferred
Ability to travel 80%
Fluent in English; multiple languages a plus
