As HCM Presales Senior Specialist / Expert you will assume responsibility to support local colleagues in complex deals. You will drive and lead the enablement in your responsible area and share best practices. The Presales Specialist (m/f) is involved in all HCM solutions for our product range (on premise, cloud). He provides technical assistance during the sales process and showcases the added value of these solutions. In this role he shows interested parties and customers from all industries how SAP HCM solutions can map their needs. He also supports the different departments at SAP Switzerland in all areas related to the solution by providing his expertise on HR Core, Talent Management, HCM Service Delivery. For instance, he is responsible for the successful presentation of our solutions at both in-house and outside events. In his role he works closely with the entire SAP ecosystem from within a highly motivated team and acts as an interface to partners, marketing, sales and consultancy. Continuous learning and sharing of new solutions, experiences and technologies and its roll-out is key in this role.

As HCM Presales Senior Specialist / Expert you will interact with prospective customers through executive meetings, discovery conversations, solution demonstrations, executive presentations and follow-up discussions. One of your primary role during an active sales cycle is to gain acceptance from the customer that SAP solutions can solve the customer’s problem and are the right choice over the other competitive offerings. In addition to deal support, you will collaborate with other sales teams to plan and execute business development strategies through the use of Design Thinking tools and techniques.


  • Lead and support key deals in the Market Units

  • Help develop the HCM presales organization following global guidance through

  • Lead of a HCM focused community of practice which provides enablement and a voice of the field to the respective solution management

  • Maintain a high-level knowledge of SAP’s solution suite in the specialization area of responsibility

  • Understand the key competitors and insure local presales team members understand and leverage SAP’s unique value wedges in every Customer interaction

  • Build key relationships and maintain a global network of people in the HCM organisation who can be leveraged for regional and local support when necessary (e.g. in key opportunities)

  • Translate complex business scenarios into answers for our customers

  • Share knowledge within the community

  • Be a major contributor in the respective Hub

  • Share your experience with global colleagues to enhance customer experience

  • Lead the implementation of global best practices and standards in the region and market units

  • Fully understand the HCM demo assets and enablement assets that should be leveraged in the MEE region and making sure any gaps in needs are addressed to global

  • Monitor all HCM key deals currently in process in the region where their specialization is a vital part of the deal, help assigning the right specialization and providing coaching and advisory support to the account team.

  • Engage in supporting key HCM marketing events in assigned specialization where appropriate


  • Bachelor equivalent: minimum requirement

  • Master / MBA / Ph.D.: optional

  • Business fluent in German and English

  • Senior Presales and consultative selling skills (> 5 years)

  • In-depth knowledge of the HCM Solution suite

  • Outstanding drive for execution

  • Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills

  • In-depth knowledge of the market and competitive situation in the HCM Market

  • Proven interpersonal and team skills at all levels and in multi-cultural environments

  • Ability to getting things done in an organizational matrix environment

  • Strong business acumen and understanding of SAP business strategy and solutions, partners, markets and competition

  • Strong problem solving skills and able to de-escalate problematic situations

  • Open mindedness and ability to quickly adapt to new requirements

  • Proven “can do / will do “ attitude


  • 5 years of relevant experience in HCM Presales/Consulting/Business Development or you are an industry HR professional with several years of expert user experience in HCM tools in a big international and complex environment.

  • Experience in: - Sales and sales processes - Delivery of high volume short duration work packages - Working in international teams
