Education / Licensure / Certification
EDUCATION: Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: Preferred: Registered Health Info Tech
Testing/Competency: Data Entry-Basic Microsoft Word-Basic Excel-Basic
EXPERIENCE: Required: Six (6) months experience in Health Information Management Department or Medical Office setting. Preferred: One (1) year experience in a Health Information Management Department or Medical Office setting or experience in a Health related field. Basic knowledge of medical terminology. Experience working with an EHR.

JOB SUMMARY: Performs quantitative and qualitative analysis on all discharged patient records. Verifies and assigns all provider deficiencies within the electronic medical record to assure that all records meet hospital requirements.
MAJOR WORK ACTIVITIES: Performs qualitative analysis of medical records to identify and assign record deficiencies to providers based on both The Joint Commission and hospital guidelines. 25 %
Meets quantitative analysis of medical records based on specific guidelines. 25 %
Assists management staff with Physician Suspension duties. 10 %
Assists with dictation corrections and prioritization duties. 10 %
Maintains complete and accurate daily productivity records. 10 %
Works closely with physician offices and hospital staff to acquire necessary documentation (queries, WQ follow-up, missing dictation) 10 %
Assists with location specific duties (phone calls, ROI, physician orientation, chart pick-up and customer service dealing with walk-ins) 10 %
