PURPOSE* The Radiation Therapist works in conjunction with the Radiation Oncologist, Chief Radiation therapist, Physicist and other radiation therapists to assure safe and accurate deliver of radiation therapy to patients. He/she influences the care delivery system by interacting with the patient, family, physician, radiation therapist, appropriate nursing staff, and ancillary departments acting as a liaison between disciplines as necessary. He/she assists the Chief Radiation Therapist with administrative functions as necessary. He/she will adhere to all policies, procedures, and standards of the assigned unit, department, and institution.
QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduate of an accredited school of radiation therapy technology. Licensure: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in radiation therapy required. BLS required. Experience: 2 years of previous experience as a radiation therapist preferred. Demonstrated ability and willingness to educate other staff. Ability to work independently
HOURS OF WORK Regular hours are Monday through Friday between 7:30AM and 4:3OPM. May be needed for emergency treatments on a rare basis.
