The Senior Software Engineer position will play a leadership role in the exciting and dynamic initiative to architect, develop, and support Mediware’s next generation suite of web applications. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to have a direct impact on the company's success while working with the latest web technologies and design patterns on SaaS solutions that serve the fast growing Long Term Care industry. This position will also involve mentoring junior engineers and working with 3rd-party vendors that Mediware partners with for staff augmentation.

Principal Functions of the Job

  • Performs all software development tasks including but not limited to technical design, coding and unit testing to generate high quality releases and to achieve product release objectives

  • Prepares technical documentation and conducts and participates in code reviews to insure that application code meets internal standards and follows industry best practices

  • Delegate tasks to staff augmentation partners and other engineering team members based on priorities set by the Engineering Manager

  • Responsible for analysis of current applications including performance, troubleshooting of reported issues, and designing solutions to problematic programming

  • Meet with customers as needed to review requirements and understand business process in support of application functionality.

  • Participates in pre-sales process in preparing and reviewing statements of work.

  • Work with other groups such as Product Management and Services to determine overall requirements and application feature sets.

  • Offer technical direction and guidance to other engineering team members and assist in managing development and QA environments

  • Provide feedback to Engineering Manager regarding performance of engineering team members as needed

  • Participate in the training and/or mentoring programs as assigned or required

  • Responds to the needs and requests of clients and Mediware management and staff in a professional and expedient manner.

Job Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or 5 years of software development experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

  • 6 years of experience with ASP.NET, C#, XML, JavaScript, CSS, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Visual Studio.

  • 3 years of experience with Entity Framework, WebApi, Web Services, including REST and SOAP based services.

  • Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing Enterprise .NET Web Applications.

  • Technology background with a familiarity in architectural, object-oriented and software design patterns.

  • Clear and experienced understanding of software development life cycle procedures, processes, and Agile methodologies.

  • Ability to interface with customers to document and review requirements and implementation plans.

  • Excellent troubleshooting, listening and problem-solving skills

  • Able to work in a fast paced deadline oriented environment

  • Able to work independently and support a team environment by serving as a mentor to others.

  • Must be authorized to work permanently in the United States.

Highly Desirable:

  • Electronic Data Interchange (EDI X12)

  • Experience with Microsoft BizTalk Server versions 2006 – 2015

  • Developing workflows in BizTalk including:

  • Orchestrations

  • Schemas

  • Ports

  • Pipelines

  • Adapters

  • Rules

  • Maps

  • Troubleshooting BizTalk production systems

  • Migrating BizTalk solutions to .Net applications
