Contracts Manager


Serve as the on-site Contracts Manager for an enterprise Base Operations Support contract in the Central Virginia Area. The Contracts Manager shall negotiate, administer, extend, terminate and negotiate standard and non-standard contracts. The Contracts Manager must demonstrate and apply highly developed interpersonal, analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills. Additionally the candidate must have the ability to manage complex programs in a diverse and dynamic environment with short-notice tasking’s under high pressure situations. Candidate must have the ability to work in a matrixed environment.


  • Work directly with the Contracting Officer on a daily basis to negotiate, administer, extend, terminate and renegotiate standard and non-standard contract’s needs.

  • Provide official delivery of all contract required documentation and provide insight into changes relating to policies, program capabilities and long range goals and objectives

  • Responsible for ensuring contract compliance and evaluating contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts and compliance to contractual obligations

  • Maintain communications to ensure timely contract execution by the parties

  • Ensure final contract documents are consistent with agreements reached at negotiations

  • Plan and participate in training of contract practices and negotiations to company personnel

  • Develop and apply advanced concepts, techniques and standards

  • Develop solutions to problems and challenges of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity and innovativeness

  • As part of the Program Management Organization, monitor, assess and accurately report, both internally and externally, on program cost, schedule, risk and opportunities

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, finance or equivalent

  • 5 years of Contracts administration experience supporting a contract of similar size and scope (contract value of at least $200M)

  • Must possess a current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph

  • Candidate is fully dedicated to the program and will work on-site at all times

  • Experience in FAR and DFAR

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work in a fast-pace environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Ability to support required in-person meetings

  • Ability to brief senior and executive-level staff, if required

  • Expert computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office Suite

  • Applied understanding of CostPoint and MAXIMO preferred

  • CFCM or CPCM preferred

  • PMP Certification preferred
