Attends/presents at program inservices as scheduled. 2. Plans and administrates occupational therapy care as prescribed by a physician utilizing current standards of practice. 3. Evaluates patient’s functional and physical status including adaptive equipment needs. 4. Based on the evaluation findings, develops and implements a patient care plan which is directed toward functional outcomes. 5. Performs periodic re-evaluations of the patients to assess the effectiveness of treatment and updates care plan as appropriate. 6. Effectively and clearly communicates patient data to patients, significant others, physicians, and other health professionals. 7. Provides patient and family education. 8. Participates in patient discharge planning. 9. Provides patients with home exercise programs. 10. Ability to perform all duties of a staff occupational therapist. 11. Adheres to the department dress code. 12. Attends departmental meetings. 13. Ensures the safety and well being of all patients under occupational therapy care. 14. Evaluates, develops and implements therapeutic programs and protocols. 15. Helps orient new staff. 16. Maintains interdepartmental communication. 17. May assist with the coordination of patient care provided by the occupational therapy department. 18. Monitors daily scheduling to ensure that all patients are provided care. 19. POSITION REQUIREMENTS A. Licensure/ Certification/ Registration: Certification by the NBCOT following successful completion of the National registry Exam preferred. Licensed in the state of California or licensed eligible. CPR qualified or completes training. B. Education: BS degree from an AOTA accredited School of Occupational Therapy. C. Experience: Minimum one year experience as an Occupational Therapist. Experience working with the pediatric to geriatric population is preferred. Recent graduate who have applied for the registration examination may be considered for the position. D. Special Qualifications: Knowledge in all areas of patient treatment. Ability to carry out department policies and procedures. Self directed.
