Columbia Sportswear has a state of the art Distribution Center in Robards, KY with an opening for a DC Associate. This position will be required to work 2nd shift during an interim shift, which is projected to be from July through January. During that time, a shift differential will apply.
General Position Summary :
Contribute to the distribution of product from Columbia Sportswear’sDistributionCenterby insuringColumbiaproduct is received, labeled, inventoried and shipped according to customer expectations and demands
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities :
Receive incoming product and affixing proper labeling.
Make boxes according to pick labels, load on cart and pick to appropriate box.
Unload cases from pick cart, verify accuracy of packing.Seal cartons and send to shipping.
Dispose of empty cartons.
Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while using Pickticket Management System (PkMS) to ensure accountability for all units.
Frequent lift/carry up to 40 pounds.
Maintain positive open lines of communication with all Columbia Sportswear management, staff and other departments in order to contribute to the smooth flow of information and efficient operation of the organization.
Ability to cope with a potentially stressful work environment while maintaining professionalism in a team based atmosphere .

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Scope :
Job has a great deal of similarity and regularity in terms of tasks performed.Incumbent follows established departmental practices and procedures.Duties are performed with specific directions given and work is checked visually and by results.Decisions are made within specific department guidelines.Errors in judgment can create accuracy problems with the flow of product from theDistributionCenter, which may result in customer dissatisfaction.
Supervisory Responsibility :
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Interpersonal Contacts :
Contacts are normally made with others inside the organization.Internal contacts include other department members.Interactions tend to focus on information exchange and receiving directions.Contacts never contain confidential/sensitive information.Incumbent may occasionally initiate contacts on his/her own with the majority being via face-to-face interaction.
Specific Job Skills :
Possess knowledge of warehouse operations.Ability to read, write, and speak English.Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time on grated surface.Possess basic computer skills or ability to be trained on the computer.Ability to perform repetitive arm/shoulder movements. Job requires ability to repetitively lift/carry up to 40 pounds for the length of the shift.
Education and/or Experience :
High school education or equivalent.
Job Conditions :
Job may require hours that often exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week to complete priority projects.Exposure toDistributionCentermachinery/equipment such as conveyor belts, forklifts and loading docks.
