The Supportability Systems Engineering Team located in Rolling Meadows, IL has a challenging opportunity for a self-starting, multitalented, team oriented, technical individual to support a cross-functional Integrated Product Team (IPT) in the performance of Land & Self Protection Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Systems programs within cost, schedule, and performance parameters. Specific duties will include:
Work with design teams to insure that design for testability is incorporated up front in the design of Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) and/or Radio Frequency (RF) Electronic Warfare (EW) products.
Design of built-in test (BIT) to detect and isolate failures in fielded equipment.
Familiar with Design for Test methodologies such as BIT, Fault Detection/Fault Isolation, Built in Self Test (BIST), Boundary Scan , and Maintenance Bus concepts. These concepts are to be integrated into all levels of design from the Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) to the Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) to the Line Replaceable Unit/Weapons Replaceable Assembly (LRU/WRA).
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and BIT effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and minimum 5 years relevant experience.
Experience with Systems and Testability Engineering
The desired candidate must be familiar with analysis/testing methodologies such as those supporting MIL-HDBK-2165, MIL-HDBK-470
Demonstrated ability to work with cross functional teams
Demonstrated ability to translate system performance and operational specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications
Knowledge of government contracting requirements and proposal process
U.S. Citizen and ability to obtain Security Clearance – Secret
Prior system development experience
The desired candidate has lead Systems or Testability Engineering programs
Experience in managing and controlling support operations in Logistics and Supportability Engineering
Exposure to military maintenance experience
Have working knowledge and have performed hardware and software reliability, maintainability predictions, Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and worked with Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS)
