Bayer Manager, District Sales in Sacramento, United States

Your tasks and responsibilities

The purpose of the Manager, District Sales role is to provide clear direction, effective coaching, prioritization of resources and targeted development, and lead and direct sales representatives to meet District Sales and Consumption expectations.

The successful candidate will reside in Sacramento, CA.

The primary responsibilities of this role, Manager, District Sales, are to: •Develop District Plan in alignment with region business plan and marketing GTM strategy; •Prioritize resources toward most critical initiatives to drive objectives; •Provide clear direction, coaching and mentoring to the field organization to develop team towards the goal of trusted advisor; •Maximize sales impact (ROI) of expenses, discretionary dollars and program payments; •Ensure achievement of program execution and program fulfillment; •Meet all reporting requirements on forecasting, marketplace intelligence & customer insights; •Manage district complaints per Bayer policy and process through effective problem solving, execution, administration and resource management; •Travel approximately 60%; •Develop strong relationships with key channel partners in the district.

More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: •Bachelor’s degree in a related field, plus prior sales experience (8+ years) in the agriculture industry; •Thorough understanding of the various aspects and problems of the agricultural chemical industry and related products; •Demonstrated knowledge of practices in seed, seed treatment, pesticide, herbicide and fungicide usage; •Prior sales management or a history of clear leadership; •Excellent organizational, follow up and analytical skills are necessary, as this role will transfer knowledge of market trends and product opportunities into actionable plans among the district, but also to product management teams in headquarters; •Proven ability to multi-task in a rapid-paced and matrixed environment is required; •Extensive interpersonal, communication skills (oral and written) and management skills are critical to prepare and present business and marketing plans, coach the sales force, and interact with all levels of management in both field sales, the division, and outside businesses; •Good driving record with valid driver’s license; •Strong Business Acumen, planning, and critical thinking skills; •Advanced computer and presentation skills (proficiencies in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes) are required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: •Experience in Marketing preferred.
