Overview:

PAE SCORE is actively searching for an SCA Electronics Technician Maintenance II Deckhand to support the SCORE contract at San Diego, CA. The Electronics Technician Maintenance maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices. The successful incumbent applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance. The Electronics Technician Maintenance II applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. This technician works under immediate supervision and achieves technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician. The candidate will be performing tasks required to meet the MPRC mission to support the SCORE training schedule. The technician will launch and recover training targets and shapes. The technician will recover and process for transportation, training weapons and shapes. The technician will operate and maintain all MPRC hull fittings and deck equipment and systems. The MPRC will operate in the Southern California near coastal waters.

Qualifications:

Qualification Requirements: The candidate must hold a STCW Certification and valid TWIC card. Must have minimum of 3 years experience in the marine industry as a deckhand. Education: High School graduate or GED equivalent. Graduation from an accredited trade school, applicable military service or proven performance gained through experience in operation a vessel at sea. Other Special Skills: The candidate must be proficient in vessel administrative procedures. Must be proficient in written and verbal English Language skills. Must be able to swim. Must be physically fit and capable of spending extensive days at sea in all weather conditions. Knowledge of military operations is highly desirable. Additional Remarks: Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to acquire and hold a Secret Security Clearance. This is an SCA level position.
