This announcement is being used to create an inventory of qualified applicants for Nurse Consultant positions and will be used to fill immediate and future vacancies.
*Additional selections may be made within the same geographical area FDA-wide. *This position may be subject to strict prohibited financial interest regulations for the employee, the spouse, and minor children of the employee. - Research background information, the origin of laws, and the intended impact in order to effectively interpret and implement clinical health care policies and provide medical review recommendations and guidance to the Contractors, leadership and other internal and external entities as needed.
- Collaborate and lead teams of other clinical staff in the to ensure consistent and accurate implementation of clinical policy and programs.
- Work with across the Agency to identify and monitor program vulnerabilities and effect changes in policy as necessary.

In order to qualify for the Nursing Consultant, GS-610-11, you must meet the following: BASIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:*Education:* Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant. (One year of nursing experience as a military corpsman that has been accepted by a State licensing body may be accepted in lieu of education at the GS-4 level.)
Registration: Applicants must have active, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. An applicant who has graduated from an approved nursing educational program within the past 12 months may be appointed pending State registration as a professional nurse within 6 months of appointment. No person appointed pending registration may be retained beyond 6 months, or promoted, if registration has not been attained.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:In addition to meeting the Basic Qualification Requirements, you must meet the following:
A. Possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 or higher grade level in the Federal service which includes participating in evaluating and analyzing clinical programs for improvement. OR
B. Have three full years of progressively higher level graduate education or have completed all requirements for a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in nursing with a concentration in a field of nursing (e.g., teaching, a clinical specialty, research, administration, etc.) or in a closely related non-nursing field directly applicable to the requirements of the position to be filled.
C. Have a combination of experience as described below and graduate education as described in above.
You must submit an official transcript, unofficial transcript, or a list including courses, grades earned, completion dates, and quarter and semester hours earned. If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program.
