This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH), Office of Surveillance and Biometrics (OSB), Office of the Director, Informatics Staff in Silver Spring, Maryland.

If selected for this position, you will:
- Serve as a mentor and provide guidance to entry-level analysts and others utilizing operations research methodologies;
- Provide technical expertise in managing the computerized regulatory and health information and data submitted to the Global Unique Device Identification Database (GUDID);
- Work with other data quality analysts across the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ensure that processes and targeted data elements are consistent across Agency data quality efforts;
- Serve as a technical consultant for the Unique Device Identification (UDI)/Office of Surveillance and Biometrics (OSB) staff in the area of operations research analysis;
- Contact labelers to inform them of data issues, explain necessary corrective actions, and follow-up to ensure data issues are resolved.

In order to qualify for an Operations Research Analyst, GS-1515-12 position, you must meet the following:
Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
In addition to meeting the Basic Qualification Requirement, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience which is equivalent to at least the GS-11 in the Federal service which includes interpreting results of quantitative studies and integrating data to create a business operations improvement plan within an organization.
You must submit an official transcript, unofficial transcript, or a list including courses, grades earned, completion dates, and quarter and semester hours earned. If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program.
