This position is located in the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Office of Medical Products and Tobacco (OMPT), Immediate Office, Silver Spring, MD.

- Serve as an expert technical consultant for the FDA Commissioner, OMPT Center Directors, and other Senior level management as it relates to recruitment and retention for specialized Scientific staff within Office of Medical Products and Tobacco (OMPT) Centers (CDER, CDRH, CBER, CTP);
- Identify and analyze relationship of talent acquisition and retention of specialized scientific staff to OMPT leadership, scientific community, and human capital community;
- Serve as an expert consultant in recruiting scientific experts for planning, monitoring, and administration of health science-related programs, or projects that encompassed the most critical work as it relates to FDA mission critical medical products and tobacco regulatory issues;
- Manage and align program resources (financial, human, material, or informational) to facilitate effective and productive health and life science programs;
- Service as an expert technical resource and leading authority on the planning and managing of projects that have significant impact on OMPT Centers operations and programs;
- Develop and review performance metrics for all of OMPT's scientific recruiting functions to monitor problem areas and implement solutions.

In order to qualify for Senior Health Science Advisor, GS-601-15, you must meet the following: BASIC QUALIFICATION:Degree: major study in an academic field related to the health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONIn addition to meeting the Basic Qualification requirement, you must meet the following:
Have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 In the Federal service, providing technical consultation in the development and implementation of short and long term recruitment, staffing and retention of scientific positions; advising management on the hiring needs and strategic recruiting and staffing plans; working with various stakeholders to create pathways on acquiring scientific talent; develop relationship with external organizations such as academia and trade associations; serving as technical resource on the planning and management of projects; represent agency at job fairs, conferences, etc. to recruit specialized scientific talent.
You must submit an official transcript, unofficial transcript, or a list including courses, grades earned, completion dates, and quarter and semester hours earned. If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program.
