Asia Pacific Legal provides legal, regulatory, litigation and franchise governance support to all of Citi's businesses in the region as a single, unified department. Hong Kong and Singapore serves as regional hubs for various legal teams in the region.
As one of the regional hubs, the Regional Markets Legal Department provides legal advisory and documentation support for fixed income, currency, rates, derivatives, commodities, futures and clearing, prime finance, equities sales and trading businesses, credit and loan trading, structured products and solutions businesses.
As a member of Regional Markets Legal, the person is to assist with legal coverage of Credit and Loans Trading, FX, Rates, Asset Financing/Securitization Transactions and Structured loans and products.
The person will report directly the head of legal coverage for these areas but will be expected to cover all the requirements of the Singapore and Hong Kong based team (including providing advice on legal and regulatory matters and litigation management).
Day-to-day functions will involve business development, transactional and advisory work, documentation and participation in industry based initiatives.
1-6 years of relevant work experience (VP), 7-15 (SVP)
Relevant experience in a law firm or financial institution
Credit derivatives and financial regulatory experience (in particular, familiarity with Singapore and/or Hong Kong regulatory requirements) would be an advantage
Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
A strong team player who is confident, possesses initiative and the ability to prioritize, multitask and work under pressure
Ability to work independently and interact with people of all levels
