Services to be performed include but are not limited to:
The Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center is seeking a full time Gastroenterologist to support our Veteran population. We prefer Physicians who are board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology. The Physician will be responsible for providing a full range of Gastroenterology services for a diverse group of Veterans in the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center system. These duties include but are not limited to colonoscopies, EGDs, ERCPs and other gastroenterology procedures as indicated. Incumbent will also be involved with the Hepatitis program, and associated outpatient gastroenterology issues. Incumbent must be credentialed to perform all required procedures.
Physician will act as consultant to our staff on gastroenterology issues. Physician will work closely with our staff to ensure compliance with National, Network and local performance standards. Incumbent may serve on local committees as deemed necessary in support of the facility mission.
Work Schedule:**8:00am -4:30pm M-F; however, additional hours may be required.

- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Completion of a first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was completed.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Physical Requirements: A pre-placement physical examination will be completed prior to appointment to determine the physical and mental fitness of candidates. The examination will be concerned with the mental and physical ability of the applicant to satisfactorily perform the duties of the proposed assignment and will include requisite laboratory and other screening as required by Federal regulatory agencies. Physician applicants must have the mental and physical ability to perform core privileges required by the specialty position in addition to any specialty privileges requested.
