The Spokane Mann-Grandstaff VA Hospital is actively seeking a board certified or board eligible Physician in Family or Internal Medicine.

You will join a team providing compassionate General Internal Medicine healthcare in the Spokane Primary Care Clinic. The panel of patients will include both male and female Veterans with acute and chronic illnesses. You will also be a participant in implementing/sustaining the VA Patient Centered Medical Home Model called Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT). This is a salaried position with panel sizes at 1200.There is no on-call involved. Benefits include malpractice coverage, 10 paid holidays, and generous paid vacation, sick, and CME package.

Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. In rare cases additional hours may be required.

Basic Requirements:

  • Citizenship of the United States. Noncitizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with Department of Veterans Affairs policy.
  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Completion of a first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was completed.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Physical requirements outlined below. Preferred Experience: Board certified in Internal Medicine / Family Practice; Women's health experience.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Requirements: A pre-placement physical examination will be completed prior to appointment to determine the physical and mental fitness of candidates. Physician applicants must have the mental and physical ability to perform core privileges required by the specialty position in addition to any specialty privileges requested.
