Assistant Transit Management Analyst I - $56,603 - $67,010 Assistant Transit Management Analyst II - $65,722 - $73,197 Associate Transit Management Analyst - $74,292 - $96,193

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play an integral role in a major change initiative to transform control andensure means for quality assurance. The analyst will be required to thoroughly understand the unique operations of the railway, specific processes and SIR vision for future planning.

The selected incumbent will provide a high level of confidentiality, analytical support and internal auditing skills for the Office of Operational Support. Responsibilities will include analyzing data and preparing reports, attending meetings and preparing/tracking the meeting’s minutes. The incumbent is also responsible for maintaining the unit’s database(s), inputting and tracking documentation; will develop and recommend procedural/processing improvements. The selected candidate will also assist the Director with recruitment efforts and create presentations and analyze data reports forrecommendations for the Office of Operational Support.

Education and Experience

Assistant TMA I, II

  1. A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and one year of full-time professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports; or
  2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1"above; and two years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1"above.

Associate TMA

  1. A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and two years of full-time satisfactory professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports. One year of experience must have been in the transportation industry; or
  2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1"above; and three years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1"above. One year of this experience must have been in the transportation industry.

Desired Skills

Proficiency creating complex queries and reports, importing/exporting data in PeopleSoft and/or Access

Experienced in a fast paced operations’ environment

Strong analytical abilities and quantitative skills

Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks in a deadline driven environment

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify the appropriate analytical processes

Experienced with employee selection, job design or technical writing

Knowledge of NYCT and SIR rules and regulations

Proficiency with computer systems, software and applications, including Microsoft Office

Must be self-motivated, and customer service oriented.

Comprehensive knowledge of transportation planning and/or operations concepts (desirable, not essential).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Other Information

As an employee of MTA NYC Transit you may be required to complete an annual financial disclosure statement with the state of New York, if your position earns more than $91,821.00 (this is subject to change) per year or if the position is designated as a policy maker.

New hires will be appointed on the Staten Island Railway Payroll and Pension.
