Our Transportation practice has an immediate need for a Technical Writer.

Your Duties:

  • Using advanced writing and editing skills in the production of highly technical documents

  • Timely release of documentation for internal reviews, client reviews, and proposals

  • Prepares hard copy deliverable packages for issuance to clients

  • Participation in project reviews and related as requested by Technical Leads

  • Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology

  • Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers

  • Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, and content

Your Capabilities and Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, General Business, or a related field

  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ technical writing experience in a similar role

  • Experience within the A/E/C industry is strongly preferred, along with any P.Eng or Technologist credentials

  • Ability to quickly absorb, understand, and use terminology unique to the transportation industry

  • Strong command of the nuances of the English language

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail in completion of tasks and coordination with team leads, leadership members and engineers

  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced environment

  • Possess a high degree of confidentiality

  • Ability to determine the needs of end users of technical documentation

  • Use photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation and charts that increase users’ understanding

  • Gather feedback from technical leads in an effort of continuous improvement

  • Ability to work well with others
