The Solution Optimization role will partner with existing customer account teams to increase renewal rates, customer satisfaction, and solution adoption by:

  • Listening to customers’ Business Commerce and Spend Management needs

  • Communicating SAP Ariba's vision for Better Business Commerce and Spend Management via the SAP Ariba Commerce Cloud

  • Developing customer-specific strategies and recommendations for optimizing their processes and solution usage

The responsibility of the Solution Optimization role is to work with SAP Ariba customers within the region to define solution strategy; including evaluation and recommendation of customer-specific scenarios. Individuals will focus on becoming a trusted advisor to a customer by serving as a solution expert in developing a customer-specific roadmap, business case, and adoption initiative(s). This role requires that the individual work seamlessly with various SAP Ariba teams within the Customer, Sales, Supplier, and Solution organizations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive solution and business case assessments based on in-depth reviews of a customer’s procurement processes, business objectives, and operating model

  • Collaborate with account teams on commercial strategy to ensure maximum retention of revenue taking into account specific requirements, market conditions, contract timing, and strategic importance

  • Positively influence both mid-level managers and C-level executives on a strategic vision for procurement transformation

  • Architect creative and flexible solutions that maximize customer’s value and ROI from SAP Ariba through driving process improvements, increased adoption, and solution expansion

  • Deliver high-impact solution demonstrations to existing customers that demonstrate how our solutions can be tailored to maximize ROI and reduce costs

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team’s operations by sharing knowledge, best practices, improving processes and presenting case studies on completed assessments

  • Navigate complex SAP Ariba commercial processes including pricing, scoping, and legal

  • Manage cross-department SAP Ariba teams (ACO, SMO, Sales, Consulting, Support, Solution Management, and Engineering)

  • Provide solution management and engineering teams with key product recommendations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of SAP Ariba On-Demand and Network products

  • Ability to articulate and present SAP Ariba products and value verbally, in writing, and via presentations to customer executives

  • Strong commercial support skills, customer service skills and commercial instinct

  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment

  • Ability to support multiple time zones, continents, and cultures

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 years of professional work experience (preferably sales, sourcing or procurement industry)

  • 3 years customer-facing or leading project management experience

  • Ability to travel up to 50%
