The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), is currently recruiting for the following two Psychology Associate positions:
- A permanent position with the State Operated Living Alternative (SOLA) Team covering Pierce and Kitsap counties.
- A non-permanent position to join our Regional Clinical Team. The location of this position can be in either Tacoma or Bremerton, Washington. It is anticipated that this non-permanent appointment will be for one year. The work schedule for both of these positions is Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. Duties
The permanent position is a member of the State Operated Living Alternative (SOLA) Team and is responsible to provide psychological analysis, behavioral analysis, and crisis intervention services, including functional assessment, and the design and implementation of positive behavioral supports to eligible DDA clients. Additionally, this position assists in building capacity and competency of DDA staff and service providers statewide in working successfully with clients who exhibit challenging behaviors. This position works closely with other members of the SOLA Team, Regional Clinical Team (RCT), regional Case Management staff, other administration headquarters and Field Services staff and contracted service providers. This position reports directly to the SOLA Program Administrator.
The non-permanent position is a member of the Regional Clinical Team (RCT) and is responsible to provide psychological, behavioral analysis, and crisis intervention services, including functional assessment, and the design and implementation of positive behavioral supports to eligible DDA clients. Additionally, this position assists in building capacity and competency of DDA staff and service providers statewide in working successfully with clients who express challenging behavior and/or mental illness. This position is part of a regional level team assigned responsibility to provide consultation, training and technical assistance to individuals, families, service providers and other agencies regarding the provision of crisis services to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. As such, the position works closely with other members of the RCT, regional Case Management staff and other division headquarters and Field Services staff. This position reports directly to the Clinical Team Manager.
A Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited school or department of psychology. OR A Master's Degree degree in Psychology from an accredited school or department of psychology. AND A minimum of four (4) years of experience as a behavior specialist working with individuals with developmental disabilities. AND Must have and maintain a current Agency Affiliated Counselor certificate or higher certification or license from the Washington State Department of Health.
After appointment, the candidate must obtain certification as a Therapeutic Options Instructor.
